Want to hear your tenant questions or comments

February 21st, 2009

Are you a tenant who has a question, perhaps a horror story or just want to give your oppinnions? Ask yourquestions and we will answer or post your funny or scary stories or just make your comments.  We are waiting to hear from you.

As property managers since 1990 we have run into many funny, scary and otherwise just mind boggling.  One of my favorites is when some tenants abandoned an apartment and left a cat inside.  It was a Friday afternoon and we thought they might come back for the cat and the rest of their belongings, so we left the kitty some food, locked up and left.  On Saturday, I started to worry because I remembered the window was open and the apartment was on the second floor and I didn’t want the cat to fall.  So I went back over there.  When I got there the place had been broken into, the doorframe was broken and the bottom lock and doorknob was missing.  I was so preoccupied with the cat that I unlocked the deabolt and went inside.  Once I got in, I realized there was no way to lock deadbolt unless you were inside, which meant I was in the apartment with someone else.  I looked over on the couch and there was someone sleeping.  I quickly looked for the cat and ran out as fast as I could.  Monday I went back with my partner (a big male-as I am female) and fortunatrely the kitty and the man were gone.

So whats your story?

Helping property owners & landlords one rental listing at a time!

February 17th, 2009

We have been blessed with a successful online rental site and over twenty profitable years as property managers and want to share our good fortune with those in need.  Kwikrents.com www.kwikrents.com is helping their fellow property owners, landlords and investors to get their vacancies filled fast by making all their rental advertising FREE! Normally the cost for a thirty day ad was $14.95, but we are now giving the service free of charge.  Posting your vacancy is easy, allows you photos and offers google mapping.  We recognize these are tough economic times and want to make sure our great industry isn’t harmed any more than it has been already.   While we aren;’t seeing much relief from the government, maybe we call all help each other by giving just a little bit back.

Just as a side note, the site has always been free for tenants to search for available rentals.

Does Renting Really Make Sense?

September 16th, 2008

In this ever changing Real Estate Market, many are faced with the question should I buy or should I rent? There are many good reasons to consider renting. It gives you the financial freedom that is not associated with owning. No burden of increasing mortgage payments, taxes or insurance. It allows you the opportunity to experience different areas and decide what features are important to you before you purchase. It puts the burden of property upkeep, expensive repairs and maintenance on the owner. But one of the main factors is that in todays market place many individuals can rent a property they wouldn’t be able to afford if they were purchasing.

So how do you find the right rental property ?  Many will search for signs in an area they desire or scan the classified ads in the newspaper.  But savy shoppers are now looking to the internet for all their shopping needs; including a place to live.  Kwikrents.com is one such site that offers a nationwide database of rental homes, pictures and google mapping.  Using the internet is a great tool for finding the right property for you.
